Five things for an inviting front porch…

Actually, there are more than 5 things you can use to make your porch inviting and cozy.
These are the basics.
First tip…
Start with a clean slate. Take everything off and either sweep and dust, or pressure wash everything.
Pressure washing is my favorite.
Isn’t it just the best when all the dirt and gunk just goes away.
You won’t get a bunch of dust in your nose like you do from sweeping. That’s a win win!
Second…
Some flowers or plants.
Searching for flowers at the nursery is one of my favorite things. I like to change them out in the Spring and Fall.
One side of our porch is shady and one side is sunny.
Be sure you choose plants and flowers based on their sun needs. I love having a fern on the shaded end.
The other end gets the hanging and potted flowers. Oh, and be sure to water them.
I’ve been know to forget about them. 😏
Having a chair is number 3.
Even though we have a very small porch, I put two rocking chairs on it. Who cares if you have to squeeze by them to get in the house.
This is a similar rocking chair.
Tip Number 4
Pillows or a throw.
Or how about both!
I used grey and white and black and white buffalo check here.
Just makes it more cozy. You can change them out for the seasons.
And number five..
Having a cute welcome mat or rug is my last tip for today.
I like to use regular rugs most of the time since our porch is covered.
This rug is actually indoor/outdoor and so pretty. I like that rugs come in larger sizes than typical door mats.
So, there you have it. Five tips to an inviting front porch.
This got me thinking of all kinds of other ways to make our porch inviting.
I would definitely add a small table to set a glass of sweet tea or root beer down.

My favorite is root beer over Sonic ice.

What would you add to the list?
