I’m joining the Fall One Room Challenge to makeover our tiny master bathroom. It was originally remodeled in 2005. It seems unreal that it was that long ago! It is definitely ready for an update! I will even throw in a photo from when we first moved here in 2002.
I’m good at gathering things to makeover areas in our home, but the follow through is not so good. The dreaming and planning stage is one of my favorite parts of any project. I had stuff set aside for redecorating our twin son’s room that I purchased shortly after we moved here. Since it was plane and train related and they are about to graduate college, I don’t think it will work. 😂 Their rooms will become guest rooms and the planning and gathering has already started! I hadn’t even considered redoing this bathroom so nothing has really been planned yet. Definitely lighter and brighter though!
There are 20 Featured Designers and many guests. I will be one of the guests joining in the fun and will be documenting the progress every Thursday.
So, here is the initial plan —
* Deep clean (talking mildew 😬)
* Paint ceiling, walls, trim, cabinets, and door
* Clean and shorten the wood blind and maybe a curtain
* Change mirror, faucet, rug, and light fixture
* and maybe change the tile around the tub
That faux tile surround is glued on and I remember the handyman that installed it saying that glue could hold HIM on the wall.
This is how it looked when we first moved in. Yikes! Well, the pink was kind of pretty.
Here it is today—-
It’s okay now. I just want to up the elegance factor! You can watch the progress of the Featured Designers and other guest designers here.
