Week 3 of the One Room Challenge.
What!!
Time really does get away from me.
The Elegant Guest Bedroom makeover is coming along.
No one is thinking about quitting! Are they?
Do you ever start a project with big ideas and high hopes and then get overwhelmed and want to give up?
I always do!
I’m always so tired after the cleaning step that I seriously think about stopping. I’m always happy when I keep going though.

So, this week was all about making decisions and ordering all the things.
The new bed frame, box springs, mattress, headboard, and a shelf are already here.
I haven’t opened the headboard box yet, but I think I ordered the Eva. I kept going back and forth on that decision.

It was also the week to refresh the closet doors with a makeover.
I never noticed these doors were a different color until I got them outside.
I had this big plan to paint them and do a faux lace treatment for Week 3 of the One Room Challenge.
In my mind it looked gorgeous and very elegant.
Let’s just say it did not look like I imagined. They were a hot mess, so they are now painted a fresh white and look so much better.
How I painted and refreshed sliding closet doors —
I am not a professional by a long shot!
Don’t go by me. This is just what I do when I paint over finished wood.
You do you.
- You could paint the doors while still hanging, but I took them down and took them outside.
- Place them on a cardboard or newspaper covered table
- Clean them thoroughly
- Sand lightly
- Wipe the dust off
- I always wipe off with alcohol and let dry
- Then, spray paint with Rust-oleum 2X Paint and Primer
- Let dry and then bring inside

That Rust-oleum Comfort grip for the spray paint is a game changer.

The doors are not rehung yet and I saw some beautiful doors online that are calling me.
I keep going back and forth. Should I order new ones or not?
I may need to do a survey on Instagram to see what you think.
The new light fixture / fan is still not finalized either. The light fixture I really want costs more than I want to spend. I keep looking for a substitute and can’t find one.
Instagram survey for that too?
Let me know what you think if you have a minute.
