Okay let’s get this started. I’m a big list and plan maker. Sometimes so much so that the project never gets started. I have been planning to update our laundry room since we moved in almost 17 years ago. Wow! Has it really been that long? I’ve done a few things over the years and last year a friend painted it for me. Paint is magical and made such a difference that I went on to the next project. We finished the kitchen remodel instead. Actually, no we did not finish it! The backsplash still needs to be installed! Oh, well! We are talking about the laundry room right now.
This room is located off of the garage and is really a pretty nice space. It also functions as the utility room with the hot water heater and the furnace. It has a toilet and a laundry sink too. I thought it was weird to have the bathroom facilities in the laundry area but, it definitely comes in handy. 😅
The drywall was re-taped and the walls and ceiling were painted last year. We caused damage to the walls in the laundry room when we moved some vents for the kitchen remodel. We will need to patch and paint those areas again. That should be pretty easy compared to the job last year.
List Time:
- deep clean
- patch walls
- paint walls and ceiling
- trim doors and window
- caulk all the things
- paint trim
- replace door knob on outside door
- paint inside and outside of door – what color?
- purchase new door mat for outside
- install louver door to garage
- install new fan
- paint floor – not sure how just yet
- clean and paint laundry sink
- make sink skirt
- install tile behind sink
- purchase and install new faucet
- hang television
- purchase and install curtain or blinds or both
- purchase new room size rug? maybe keep the one we have
- flowers and candles
- would love to get an on demand water heater 🤔
That’s the plan. We shall see how closely it is followed.
